LatrCart Alpha Testing Guide

If it's confusing, clunky, or just plain ugly — that's exactly what we need to hear. No sugarcoating. Tell us what actually sucks.

Thank you for helping us test LatrCart! This page walks you through everything you need to get started.

Step 1: Install TestFlight & Join the Beta

TestFlight is Apple's official app for trying out new apps before they're released to the public. It's free, safe, and made by Apple — you'll use it to install LatrCart on your iPhone.

1.   Download the TestFlight app from the App Store (search “TestFlight”, or tap this link on your iPhone).

2.   Open the invite link we sent you: [INSERT TESTFLIGHT INVITE LINK HERE]. This will open TestFlight automatically.

3.   Tap “Accept” and then “Install” to download LatrCart to your phone.

4.   Once it's installed, open LatrCart from your home screen just like any other app — you're in!

A couple of things to know: TestFlight builds expire after 90 days, and we'll send you a new invite if we release an update. You'll also see a small orange dot on the LatrCart icon — that's normal, it just means it's a beta app.

Step 2: Try LatrCart on a Shopify Store

Here's the simplest way to think about it: lots of the independent, single-brand online stores you shop from are actually built using the same behind-the-scenes software called Shopify. You won't see the word “Shopify” anywhere on the site — it's just the technology powering the checkout and product pages, kind of like how lots of different restaurants might all use the same brand of oven.

LatrCart is designed to work specifically on these Shopify-powered stores. Big box retailers and department-style sites — think Amazon, Walmart, Target, Nordstrom, Zara, or H&M — run on their own custom platforms, so LatrCart won't work there. Some very large founder-led brands (like SKIMS or Gymshark) also use a heavily customized, enterprise version of Shopify that behaves more like its own independent checkout system, so those may not work smoothly either.

So during testing, please try using LatrCart while browsing or shopping on stores like the ones below (these are just familiar, recognizable examples — feel free to use any similar independent brand store you already shop with).

✅ Examples of Stores That Work

•     Allbirds (shoes)

•     Glossier (beauty)

•     Joah Brown (loungewear)

•     Faherty Brand (clothing)

•     Rylee + Cru (kids' clothing)

•     Princess Polly (fashion)

•     The Drip Shop (boys' clothing)

•     Oh Polly (fashion)

•     Aviator Nation (retro apparel)

•     Tuckernuck (preppy fashion)

•     Spiritual Gangster (activewear)

•     White Fox Boutique (fashion)

•     Pura Vida Bracelets (jewelry & accessories)

•     Kitsch (hair accessories & beauty)

•     rhode (Hailey Bieber's skincare line)

•     Bubble Skincare

•     Jones Road Beauty (Bobbi Brown's beauty line)

Feel free to also try LatrCart on any other independent, boutique-style store you already shop at — small-to-mid size fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands tend to work best. If you try a store and something doesn't work quite right, that's exactly the kind of thing to include in your feedback below (Step 3)!

Step 3: Send Us Your Feedback

Your feedback is exactly what we need right now — no detail is too small! Please let us know about anything that felt confusing, broken, slow, or just plain didn't work, as well as anything you loved. There are two easy ways to send it — use whichever is more convenient for you.

Option A: Email Us

Just tap the button below — it will automatically open a new email addressed to us:

✉  Email Us Your Feedback

When you write in, it helps if you can include:

•     What you were trying to do

•     What happened instead (a screenshot helps a lot!)

•     Which store you were shopping on

•     Your phone model, if you know it

Option B: Send Feedback Right From the App

TestFlight has a built-in way to send feedback straight from your phone, screenshots and all:

1.   Take a screenshot of whatever you want to show us in the LatrCart app. If it's helpful, you can crop it or use your phone's markup tool to circle the specific thing you're pointing out.

2.   Tap the share button (the box with an arrow pointing up) from your screenshot.

3.   Look for the button labeled “Share Beta Feedback” — it's usually right next to “Copy” — and tap it.

4.   This opens a “Send Feedback” screen where you can type out your feedback, attach more screenshots if you'd like, and confirm your email.

5.   Tap the blue arrow to send it off.

Heads up: feedback sent this way (along with some basic device info) is collected by Apple and shared with our developer account (Jefferson P Villavicencio), and it'll be linked to whatever email address you're using with TestFlight.

Step 4: Install the Chrome Extension (Laptop/Desktop)

Want to test LatrCart on your laptop too? It's available as a Chrome extension. Since we're still in testing, it isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet — so instead of a normal one-click install, you'll download a file and add it to Chrome manually. It only takes a couple of minutes, and it's completely safe.

Download & Unzip

⬇  Download LatrCart Extension (.zip)

1.   Click the button above to download the LatrCart extension file to your laptop. It'll usually land in your Downloads folder.

2.   Unzip the file: on a Mac, just double-click the .zip file and it'll unzip itself into a folder. On Windows, right-click the .zip file and choose “Extract All.”

3.   You'll now have a folder named something like “LatrCart.” Leave it where it is (don't delete or move it later) — Chrome needs to keep reading from that folder.

Install in Chrome

4.   Open Chrome, click into the address bar, type chrome://extensions, and hit Enter.

5.   In the top-right corner of that page, turn on “Developer mode” (it's a toggle switch).

6.   A new button will appear — click “Load unpacked.”

7.   In the window that pops up, select the LatrCart folder you unzipped, then click “Select” (or “Open”).

8.   LatrCart will now show up in your list of extensions — it's installed!

Note: Chrome may show a message saying the extension “is not from the Chrome Web Store.” That's expected for a beta test like this one, and totally safe to ignore.

Pin It to Your Toolbar

9.   Click the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) near the top-right of Chrome, right next to your address bar.

10.Find LatrCart in the dropdown list.

11.Click the pin icon next to it — LatrCart will now stay visible in your toolbar so you don't have to dig for it every time.

For feedback on the desktop extension, please use the email option in Step 3 above — the in-app “Share Beta Feedback” button is only available on the iPhone app.

Thank you for being one of the first to try LatrCart. We couldn't do this without you!
